The analytical paragraph lays out and explains the evidence that supports your thesis. Each analytical paragraph should include the following: Topic Sentence – This tells the reader what your paragraph is about; it is the main idea of that paragraph. 1st Person Plural Avoid using we or us in an essay. This sentence is not so bad, but again it tries to include the reader in the essay.
